Employee Spotlight: Tina Townsend

Far West Capital is thrilled to have had Tina Townsend on the team for the past seven years. By day, she is our super star controller who handles anything and everything that is thrown her way, and by night, she is a mother to two awesome girls. Being a working mom is a huge accomplishment and we are so proud of Tina for excelling at it. Now let’s shine the employee spotlight on her!

What does your day typically look like?
I am a multi-tasker at her finest. I am all over the place from controller duties for FWC to taking special projects that Don throws my way!

How long have you worked at Far West Capital?
I’ve worked here since 2008, but have worked with Don and Cole since 2001 at State Bank.

What was your first job?
I worked at a daycare all the way through high school.

What do you like to do for fun?
Playing with my girls – they enjoy swimming. I also enjoy softball, basketball and volleyball. We stay pretty busy.

What’s your favorite restaurant in Austin?
Chuy’s.

What’s your favorite vacation spot?
Give me about two weeks and I will let you know. We are about to go on a trip to the Dominican Republic. I really enjoyed Costa Rica a few years ago when we went.

What do you enjoy most about working at Far West Capital?
The people I work with.

How are you set up for success at Far West Capital?
I think any job here is set up for success. If you want to succeed, Far West Capital is the perfect place. Your abilities are recognized and awarded.

What is your favorite Far West Capital memory?
When Matt S., Page, Trisha and I worked in Cedar Park. It was a small office and we had many fun days.

What is your biggest accomplishment personally and/or professionally?
My biggest accomplishment is being a mother. Nothing in life can drive me as crazy and make me prouder than anything all in the same day.

What does it mean to you to “unleash your potential?”
For me, whether personally or professionally, it is doing the best job in anything I do and putting in 110%. But even more would be teaching my kids the same ethics I was taught.
