We talk about goals frequently on our blog, but do you ever stop and look at the big picture and your ultimate goals? Some important questions you should ask yourself are:
- How do I define success?
- How will I measure my life?
- What is my purpose in life?
Your ultimate goals could be becoming a successful entrepreneur, maintaining a happy family life, or making some sort of impact in the world. No matter what it is, your ultimate goals will help you define what your day-to-day, monthly and yearly goals look like.
One thing you should keep in mind is echoed in a recent Time article: “Want Happiness? Don’t Buy More Stuff – Go on Vacation”: using physical things to evaluate your success is sure to dissatisfy you. There will always be something bigger, better, and newer and someone who already has these things. Instead, focus inward when it comes to success. For example, in a recent BNET article, entrepreneurs ranked personal satisfaction as their top success criteria. Think about your answers to the questions above and it’ll help guide your life and goals.
