Overcoming Success Obstacles in 2013

Did you create New Year business goals? Many people do but then often give up just a few weeks or months later. There are many reasons people don’t stick to their plan, but understanding the potential obstacles can lead to success.

Let’s take a look at some common success obstacles.

Knowledge

This includes knowing about and identifying the business opportunities and resources available to help a company grow. Reach out to your network, ask questions, go online and spend some time doing research.  You will be surprised by what you find and the people you will meet.

Innovation

Innovation gives companies the edge to stand. Innovation comes in different forms, including new client processes, employee perks and motivators, and tools and resources to reach a desired audience. Think outside of the box and don’t just do what you’ve always done. Try using social media, providing employees new incentives, or starting a referral program.

Timing

Staying aware of deadlines and priorities will help prevent a crisis. Unexpected events such as landing a large client and needing to hire additional staff, or having the company phone and Internet lines go down for a day can temporarily stunt success.  If time is managed effectively, these issues will be handled with ease, in addition to all the scheduled deadlines and tasks.

Excuses

Excuses lead to a path of failure. There is little room for continual self-doubt, which is often caused by lack of planning.  Create your purpose and don’t allow excuses to become a routine part of your dialogue.

What obstacles prevent you from reaching success? How will you break through them in 2013?
