The event first began as a music festival in 1987 and had 700 attendees but the event has grown to 197,000 attendees in all parts of the event in 2011. Today, the event revolves around panels, educational sessions, screenings and shows where key industry people bring their expertise, knowledge and talents to the stage. Attendees come for the entertainment, education and networking, and with a jam-packed schedule, opportunities for all three are readily available.
